Valorant Celebrates 1st Birthday, Touts 14 Million Active PC Players

valorant heroes grayscale bannerValorant is celebrating its first birthday this week, and like a proud parent, Riot Games reveals that the tactical first-person shooter has logged over 14 million active players on PC and half a billion games played in just its first year.

“After a record-breaking closed beta debut and successful global launch, VALORANT quickly established itself as a global fan-favorite, emerging as one of the most prominent FPS games available on PC,” said the studio in the official press release.

The studio also announced their plans to expand the IP starting with Valorant Mobile. “One of our top goals this first year was to earn the trust and respect of the global FPS community, and to prove to them that VALORANT will always uphold the fundamentals of a truly worthwhile competitive tac-shooter,” said Executive Producer Anna Donlon.

“To see our growing player community recognize and appreciate what we’re trying to do with VALORANT is beyond what we could’ve expected and we’re thrilled to soon offer the same competitive VALORANT experience to even more global players,” she added.

To celebrate the occasion, Riot Games will be running a month-long celebration with various in-game rewards and commemorative in-game swag, including a free player card and event pass.
