MU: Origin is a third-party MU game developed by a Chinese company that WEBZEN licensed the MU IP to. It launched in Korea in May 2015 to overwhelmingly positive reception, taking the top grossing spot on both Google Play and the App Store. In China, it was the top grossing game on the App Store and among the top five on Google Play. The Chinese service currently has over 120 million registered accounts while the Korean service has 20 million downloads on Google Play alone. WEBZEN attributes the game's success to the successful mobile adaptation of MU Online's core gameplay.

Now, MU: Origin is coming to the West. It will enter a Google Play-exclusive Closed Beta period on January 25th. Interested parties that own an Android device can sign up for the Closed Beta on the official website from now until January 31st. The Closed Beta will run from January 25th to January 31st. You must live in North America, South America, or Europe to take part. The game will release in full on iOS and Android this Spring.
