Valve may have taken down Myth of Empires from Steam but, technically, there’s nothing stopping Angela Game from just selling the Chinese sandbox MMORPG through other platforms, their own website included. This is exactly what the Chinese developer did to work around the DMCA takedown and an International Vanguard Edition of the game is now available for purchase on the official site.

The International Vanguard Edition will run on the same servers as the Steam version but will come with its own dedicated launcher. Do note that the launcher is still under testing but it should be functioning enough to let players launch the game and automatically update the client when needed. As such, the game is currently being sold at limited quantities until the developers can squash the bugs and make the necessary improvements to the launch. A copy of the game will set you back $29.99 while the three-pack bundle will cost you $89.97 although both options are currently being offered at a slight discount until further notice.

Meanwhile, the legal battle between Angela Game and Snail Games et al. continues with the former seeking reparation for damages caused by the DMCA takedown and the latter seeking damages and profits from anything even slightly related to Myth of Empires, including hardware, royalties, business opportunities, and basically anything else they can think of.
