Amazon Game Studios is giving New World players a chance to catch up on their weapons training with a Double Weapon XP event. The event will run from June 6th through June 9th with more XP boosting events planned throughout the rest of the month.

“Welcome to the New World June XP Extravaganza event! Throughout June, we’ll be hosting a variety of bonus XP events for adventurers to maximize their characters’ potential through leveling up weapons, trade skills, and more. With the new 3v3 Arena, PvP rewards track, new quests and more, there’s a variety of reasons to swap up your build, and try new things.”

Meanwhile, the survival MMORPG’s average player count continues to dip with an average of just over 16,500 players logging-in for the entire month of May compared to its 21,000 average player count in March and April and 32,000 in February. This is just seven months after the game officially launched on Steam and hit an all-time player concurrency of 913,027 players.

The XP boosts might not be enough to get numbers back up to that point but it should encourage at least a few more players to jump back in, at least for the remainder of the month. Event details can be found on the New World official site.
