New World’s latest Forged in Aeternum video dives into its upcoming Fellowship & Fire update that’s set to launch next week on March 28th. Fellowship & Fire will mark the open-world MMORPG’s first seasonal content update and the introduction of its first battle pass in addition to the new Empyrean Forge Expedition and the Fire Storm Heartrune.

The latest episode of the developer video series offers a preview of the update’s contents but focuses more on monetization and progression through the new battle pass. As with traditional battle passes, New World’s version of the reward system will feature both free and paid reward tracks but will require players to complete a Bingo-like “activity card” in order to unlock and claim rewards and will reportedly take around 50 hours of gameplay time to complete.

Seasons will run for roughly three months which means that players will also have the same amount of time to complete the battle pass and claim all of its reward offerings. Players will also have the option to buy-in at the very last minute to claim the rewards from both the paid and reward tracks. Amazon notes that all rewards will be purely cosmetic and will never be pay-to-win.

The new dev vlog below should give you more insight into the new seasonal passes. You can also take Fellowship & Fire for a test drive on the public test realm if you’d rather have actual hands-on experience.
