Nexon Reports Q4 2018 Earnings Report - MapleStory & DFO Revenues Surge

Nexon reported their Q4 2018 and full year 2018 earnings report recently which showed that revenues increase 8% year over year from ~235B Yen ($2.12B) to 254B Yen ($2.29B). The jump in growth can largely be attributed to the following:

  1. MapleStory revenues increased a whopping 67% year over year thanks to the game's successful Summer update in South Korea
  2. Dungeon Fighter Online revenues increased double digit percentages year over year.

More interestingly though, Nexon highlighted several of their upcoming games in the earnings report, the first of which was Mabinogi Mobile, which I'm personally excited for. While there's no official release date just yet, seeing it in the earnings report makes me think its making serious progress. Nexon also highlighted Project BBQ, a PC MMORPG based on the Dungeon Fighter franchise.

While Nexon continues to invest in mobile games, the company still gets the bulk of its revenues from PC:

Other games in the Nexon pipeline are:

AxE: Alliance vs Empire was recently shown off at a press event at Nexon America's HQ and should be launching soon. No word on 'Lyn: The Lightbringer', 'Magia', or SinoALICE just yet though, but they're expected to launch globally in English.
