Nexon reported their financial results today with revenues clocking in at an impressive $755M for the third quarter of 2020. Profit for the quarter came in at $155M.

As with previous Nexon earnings reporters, the company released some interesting nuggets of information.

  • MapleStory's lifetime revenues have now exceeded over $3B since the game launched in 2003.
  • Dungeon Fighter Online made over $15B since launching in 2005
  • Kartrider made over $800M since 2004

While most can recognize the first 3 franchises highlighted in the above image, the last one is a little known game called Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds, which holds the title as the world's longest running MMORPG. And in case you're curious, yes the game is available in English.

While Nexon's has historically generated the vast majority of its revenues from PC games, successful mobile game launches has led to tremendous revenue growth. Mobile game revenues are up a whopping 140% year over year thanks to successful mobile launches and the continued strength of MapleStory M.

Nexon's revenues in North America and Europe exceeded expectations due to the outperformance of the mobile MMORPG V4, the casual mobile game Choices, and the continued strength of MapleStory on PC.
