Nightingale Is Holding A Final Stress Test This Weekend Ahead Of Its Early Access Launch

Inflexion Games is preparing for Nightingale’s early access launch next month and is making sure that everything is in order with a final stress test on February 3rd. The playtest will run for approximately three hours starting at 10 a.m. PST and will feature a “tailored version” of the early game minus the tutorial and with no build restrictions.

Testers will immediately have access upgraded tools and gear and will have a variety of recipes unlocked for them and ready to use. This essentially gives them a 10-hour boost that will allow them to jump right into the meat of the early game.

“This will be a different experience than what players will encounter when they first enter the Realms on February 22,” the studio explains. “[…] We wanted the stress test to offer a few more tools and resources at an earlier stage in the journey to give players more of a taste of what’s to come ahead of our launch later in the month.”

Those who receive invites to the stress test will be able to pre-load the game starting at 9 a.m. PST on February 2nd. Invites will be sent via email, but Inflexion says that the best way to check if you’ve been chosen is to periodically refresh the Nightingale Steam page once the pre-load period begins.

The good news is that the team is looking to give everyone who signed up a chance to participate and will be granting access in waves all throughout the playtest. They explain that doing so in batches will allow them to test how the servers handle a large number of players trying to log in at the same time and their ability to scale server capacity up during a sudden influx of players.

“A way to think about it is that instead of turning on a tap at 100% the first time, we’ll be turning it on at 50%, checking for leaks, and all looking well, we’ll see if it handles at full capacity. This way we can check for various bottlenecks throughout the test.” Inflexion says.

“It is possible that something may go awry during the stress test - and that’s all part of the reason why we’re doing it,” the studio adds. “Whatever happens, it will be valuable data for the team to ensure we’re ready for Early Access launch.” That’s set to go down on Steam and the Epic Games Store on February 22nd.

More information about the upcoming stress test can be found on the Nightingale Steam page.
