Ninelives Open Alpha Is Live - Anyone Can Play

Open world [MMO]RPG Ninelives has launched its Alpha test and anyone is free to join the gritty fantasy world. Created by two-man indie team SmokeymonkeyS, the game features no levels: "there are no limits such as places you can't go, enemies you can't defeat or items you can't use because of your level." It's an old school concept that at face-value is reminiscent of games like Ultima Online.

Ninelives does tout features that distinguish it in the RPG fraternity. Some game elements are randomized, such as dungeons and where creatures roam, which may make for interesting exploration challenges. Quests are not the central focus of the game, and are designed to "give you clues about the world." And the game touts an infinite number of weapons and armors with random stats.

If you choose to try Ninelives you may be surprised to find yourself alone in the game's world Novemcia. Multiplayer is still in development. But it is available to try for free, and may be well worth the experience if you're eager for novelty.
