Over 70 Million Players Have Hopped Into Hearthstone

Blizzard announced that Hearthstone passed the 70 million player milestone earlier today in an official blog post. Who knew 70 million was akin to a quinceañera? I didn't. Of course, that doesn't indicate the number of players currently hopping online in a 24 hour period, but the number of total unique players who have tried Hearthstone over the game's lifetime.

Blizzard thanked players for supporting their card game:

We’re humbled and grateful that so many players have chosen to join us for some Hearthstone fun. As our way of saying thanks, starting today through the end of May, everyone who logs in will receive three free Journey to Un’Goro card packs. Yup! Everyone! Even new players! Just log in to claim your bonus packs!

This isn't the only Blizzard title that's been pinning its high marks to the fridge. Last month, it was reported that Overwatch passed the 30 million player milestone, which is also a notable achievement but somewhat pales in comparison to its cousin. Still these are all big numbers, and any game would be happy to wear a gold star with either marking.
