After being delayed multiple times in the past two years, Overwatch 2 finally gets a confirmed release date. The Overwatch sequel-slash-expansion will be launching into Early Access on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on October 4th as a free-to-play game with two new Toronto and Midtown Manhattan-inspired maps as well as the new Push game mode.

Players can look forward to more information about the Overwatch 2’s business model, the upcoming closed beta test, and the newly-unveiled hero – Junker Queen – in the official reveal stream scheduled for June 16th at 10:00am PDT.

“At launch, players will have an opportunity to get their hands on the newest tank hero to join the roster, the ruthless Australian-born ruler of Junkertown: the Junker Queen. The Junker Queen is the second new hero revealed for Overwatch 2, and the franchise’s 34th hero overall, following Sojourn—a high-mobility and railgun-wielding former Overwatch captain with cybernetic capabilities.”

Existing Overwatch players and those that purchase the game before June 23rd will get to claim a free Founder’s Pack which will include an exclusive founder’s icon, two epic skins, and a surprise gift that will be revealed prior to the game’s Early Access launch on October 4th.
