The Open Beta 34 patch for Paladins introduces the new hero Ying, the Illusionist and an additional game mode, escorting the payload. The official forum post goes over the patch's every little detail but we've got the juicy bits right here.

I'm very happy to hear payload has joined Paladins as I felt the game needed some game mode diversity. If it's not familiar to you, one team is tasked with moving the payload across the map while the other must work together to stop them. At the end of the round the team's switch their roles. If both teams escort the payload all the way to the objective then the team which escorted the payload with more time left on the clock will be victorious. Payload is playable on three maps: Outpost, Hidden Temple, and Frostbite Caverns.

Ying, the illusionist, a support champion, also joins the fray this patch. She can heal her teammates by spawning an illusion or shatter her doppelganger, sending it chasing after opponents and bursting to dish out 500 damage.

Evie is getting the troublemaker (Hot Topic) skin, complete with stickered red guitar and a new voice pack. How troublesome and rebellious.

Overtime has been reworked a bit to include a diminishing system, so that as Overtime continues it will begin to expire, down to only one second. Don't step off that objective point.

And matchmaking has been tweaked to better match players of equal rank and within in the same region. So no more getting stomped by people who live on the other side of the globe, I hope.

Are you playing Paladins, happy to see Payload join Paladin's world?
