Singularity 6’s vibrant social MMO Palia has caught the attention of hundreds of thousands of aspiring testers according to statistics released by the studio. Over 600,000 hopeful gamers have reportedly signed-up for a chance to receive an invite to the ongoing alpha tests, although only 20,000 have managed to get in so far.

Together, they’ve accrued over 167,000 hours of playtime, with some extremely dedicated testers logging more than 200 hours individually. The studio also touts over 107,000 Discord members and roughly 100,000 followers on its social media accounts.

The dev team considers this as evidence that players are looking for a breath of fresh air and that the game’s casual and positive nature is the driving force behind its current popularity, as with other cozy life sims like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, and Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Of course, sign-up numbers don’t really paint a picture of how well the game will be received when it comes out. Many a game has boasted millions of sign-ups and pre-registrations only for its playerbase to take a dive months or even weeks after launch.

If you want to join the 600,000 or so players waiting for an invite, you can still throw your name into the hat by signing-up on the Palia official site.
