It’s still going to be a while before Season 1 of Paramount’s Halo TV series adaptation goes on air but it looks like the project has already hit a major snag in the production of its second season. According to Variety, Steven Kane, the series’ showrunner, will not be coming back for Season 2.

A second season, however, still seems likely considering the high-profile nature of the Halo IP and ViacomCBS’ investment in the show says Variety.

Season 1 will run for nine episodes and is set to air in the US via Paramount Plus sometime in Q1 2022. Den of Thieves’ Pablo Schreiber will be starring as Master Chief in the adaptation, Designated Survivor’s Natascha McElhone will be playing Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey, and Jen Taylor will be reprising her role as Cortana.

A trailer has yet to be released for the upcoming series although rumors suggest that there’s one ready to be released to the masses. When that will be is anyone’s guess. Rest assured that we’ll be keeping an eye out.
