Phantasy Star Online 2 9th Anniversary Celebration Kicks Off Next Week In New Genesis
The Fourth of July not only marks the United States’ independence but also Phantasy Star Online 2’s 9th anniversary. And, what better way to celebrate both occasions than by taking down baddies and bird-like creatures in tuxedos in New Genesis, PSO2’s recently-released remake-slash-reboot-slash-sequel.
From July 7 to August 14, New Genesis players will get to enjoy a decked out Central City where they can visit Xiandy to take on special anniversary tasks. Completing these tasks will earn player Seasonal Points that they’ll be able to spend on new accessories, stamps, Star Gems, Augment Capsules, and new Glissen Elemental Weapons.
Players can also earn Seasonal Points by hunting down mobs with special anniversary markings. Ceremo Rappys will also drop rare items so be on the lookout for these snappily-dressed birds. There’s also a Gigantix walking around with anniversary markings if you’re up for the challenge.
“During the 9th Anniversary Event, you can even find Gigantix with a Seasonal Symbol that will appear as Seasonal Enemies. Don’t forget that enemies with this symbol have their weakness changed to Lightning! Take ‘em down with a Lightning-attribute weapon to see if you can get some rare item drops!”
Part 2 of the anniversary festivities kicks off on July 21 featuring a different set of seasonal enemies and rewards. Head over to the Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis official site for more info.
