Phantasy Star Online 2 Officially Launches Today, PC Release Window Revealed
Phantasy Star Online 2 has left open beta today and has officially launched on the Xbox One in North America. SEGA has also announced the game’s PC release date in the official press release. PC players will finally get to jump into the game in late May. The game will feature full cross-play support and will be exclusively available on the Microsoft Store.
The North American version of the Japanese sci-fi MMORPG includes full English text and voice-overs along with three years’ worth of content. The NA port also comes with the most recent balancing and quality-of-life improvements currently available in the Japanese version. Two new Urgent Quests have also been added along with the new Heroic Wanderer AC Scratch Ticket.
SEGA will be running a series of special events to celebrate the game’s North American launch. Players will receive special log-in bonuses from now until April 23rd including a Half Scape Doll that automatically revives players when they die on the battlefield. They can also get a free SG20 ticket by joining an Alliance with at least four members before April 28th. In addition, Alliances that earn at least 5,000 Alliance Points before the 28th will be rewarded with the collectible “Impromptu Tea Party” emote.
“Phantasy Star Online 2 changed the history of Online Action RPG's; the sci-fi story, characters, and gameplay has resonated with gamers worldwide and now we're excited to bring North American players this special game - for free,” said PSO2 Head of Marketing for North America. “Our player community is the heart and soul of the game and we couldn't have done it without their ongoing support and passion.
