Phantasy Star Online 2 Remains a Huge Moneymaker For Sega

Despite news of the Southeast Asian version of Phantasy Star Online 2 shutting down, the game still remains a huge moneymaker for Sega. In fact, Phantasy Star Online 2 makes so much money that Sega highlighted the game in their March FY 2017 earnings report which came out on February 2, 2017. Take a look below:

There's obviously a lot going on in the screencapture which is from Sega's investor slide deck presentation, but the highlight is that Phantasy Star Online 2 remains Sega's top digital game. PSO2 along with the 2 other titles listed there (Horensia Saga and Puyopuyo!! Quest) make up a whopping 67.6% Sega's domestic Digital games revenue. Phantasy Star Online 2's strength was also highlighted on the bottom of that slide. Other interesting tidbits such as average revenue per monthly active user can also be seen ,but since it aggregates all of Sega's digital games we can't attribute any specific number to Phantasy Star Online 2.

Despite the game's success, there's been no new word on a Western release. Those looking to play the game should check out our guide on how to play PSO2 in English though.
