Planetside 2 Is Closing In China On May 31st

When The9's Planetside 2 contract expires later this year, it will not be extended. Instead, The9 will be closing the game on May 31st.

According to MMOCulture, The9 had previously spent millions on Planetside 2 marketing, but had neglected it when it came to content updates. They posit that the reason for this closure is that The9 is putting all of its eggs in one basket with Firefall's upcoming launch in China.
