Players Aren’t Buying Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint NFTs

In not-everyone-is-into-NFTs news, Ubisoft’s recently-released Ghost Recon NFTs aren’t selling as well as the company had hoped and are apparently gathering virtual dust on its virtual shelves.

According to Kotaku, only a handful of Ghost Recon Breakpoint players have jumped at the chance to purchase the limited-edition cosmetic items. The fact that you have to be an actual Breakpoint player to purchase the digital items isn’t helping them sell faster either. Since the NFTs came out earlier this month, total sales are valued at $400 with just 15 items sold to date.

Nevertheless, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is still determined to push through with the Ubisoft Quartz NFT platform, saying that NFTs are just the beginning and that the gaming community also didn’t take well to microtransactions when it was first implemented.
