Pox Nora Is Headed To PlayStation 4 On May 23rd

Turn-based strategy/card game hybrid Pox Nora has been running since 2006, back when players had to launch it using Java Web Start. Although not the original developers, Sony Online Entertainment picked the game up at one point, later selling the game to Desert Owl Games, a company that employs some of its original developers. It's had quite a long history, but, until now, that history took place entirely on PC.

On May 23rd, after nearly 11 years of PC exclusivity, Pox Nora will be launching on PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 version will launch with "all of Pox Nora's currently-released PC expansions," the entire collection totaling more than 2700 available cards. New players will be giving the "Ironfist Inquisition" deck and a "bonus login pack" the first time that they log in via PlayStation 4; PlayStation Plus users will be granted yet another free pack. The PlayStation 4 version will also have some exclusive content available at launch.

Interestingly, the game will support cross-play, allowing PC and PlayStation 4 players to play against each other. PC players will even be able to "copy their existing PC account's inventory to the PlayStation 4 [version]."

Desert Owl Games Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Linsay Craten had the following to say about the announcement.

After more than 24 million play sessions on PC, we will soon welcome the PlayStation community onto Pox Nora's battlefield. With thousands of cards to choose from and all expansions being available Day 1, PlayStation gamers will find a near-endless amount of content in this immense persistent fantasy world.

The PlayStation 4 version of Pox Nora is set to launch on May 23rd. Those who would like to try the game out before the launch can download the PC version via Steam.
