Simulogics has made choosing factions in Prosperous Universe a bigger deal than before with the arrival of the space economy simulator’s Prestige update. The marquee feature of the update is the new Contingent Contracts system which grants players various rewards and increase their reputation with their chosen faction as they complete various tasks for them.

“Raise prestige and rise to prominence. Your chosen faction is depending on you to help build a solid network of reliability and influence. Complete crucial tasks that will determine the impact that your faction has across the universe, all while helping you gain valuable experience and increased profits. It’s up to you to decide which contracts to complete and which to ignore. Be sure to choose wisely…”

In addition to the new faction contracts, the update also disables penny bids for expensive items to prevent item sniping. “Thanks to the new pricing mechanism, you won’t need to check your order book every second,” said the devs. “Dynamic tick sizes will be introduced so more expensive items can no longer be underbid by one penny.”

Meanwhile, the game doesn’t seem to be faring too well on Steam with daily player concurrency numbers averaging at just 45 players over the past six months despite Simulogics’ earlier claims that the Steam release will be “crucial to the future and sustainability of the game.”
