PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is celebrating the new season in style and bringing sexy back with its two new retro-themed "Fever" and "Militia" crates. Officially dropping on February 22nd, the Fever crate is kicking back with its 80's inspired Austin Powers costumes, while the Milita crate packs a punch with its die-hard combat ready uniforms.

The Fever crate will be available to purchase from the in-game cash shop with BP only, while the Militia crate will be free and accessible amongst all players and will drop as loot alongside the game's usual four crates.

In addition to the fresh gear that is being released, PUBG has also announced that it will be testing a new matchmaking system that allows the player pool to be prioritized according to ping.

Unlike the method considered earlier, we are going to divide the matching pool depending on ping. This means that the users with lower pings will be prioritized during matchmaking. The team is expecting to improve the overall play experience by splitting the matching pool rather than restricting connection depending on ping. Preparations are underway to test this method in some regions, with first trials planned to start this week. Specific dates will be shared when ready.

With the new matchmaking system, this will hopefully lead to better server performance and reduce some of the connection issues that players are experiencing in game.
