The new studio is currently working on a ground-breaking MMO built with cloud-computing in mind. According to the official press release, the MMO promises to open a “pathway to brand new kinds of gameplay and game experiences in worlds that feel more real and immersive than previously imagined.”

“Now that we have our foundational technology, we're moving into production on our innovative lead title and original IP,” said Koster. “The support from Galaxy Interactive and BITKRAFT enables us to hire staff and push the boundaries of what an online world can be, reinforced by best practices for persistence, engagement, and retention to build a game that lasts.”

The funding will go towards the game’s development and to expand the Playable Worlds team. More information can be found on the studio’s official site.
