Secondhand Lands Is Trying To Make A Comeback On Steam

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that no one reading this article has ever heard of Secondhand Lands. The off-beat, fairy tale-themed MMORPG originally went live on the Pixel Mine Games launcher alongside Ashen Empires and Dransik on April 1, 2009. It was later shut down on March 1, 2012 due to a having miniscule playerbase. Not even odd features such as two-legged player races being able to ride four-legged player races as mounts could bring enough players in to make the game sustainable.

But it seems that, at some point,the game was relaunched and developer Bobby Thurman of Callipygian Games has been working on the game over the past few years. Out of nowhere, the game was posted to Greenlight yesterday.

It's been a long time since I last played Secondhand Lands, but I distinctly remember the world being rather small, but quite a lot could have changed since then.

The game's key features are as follows.

* hundreds of quests
* server wide events
* player contests where entire guilds can compete too
* all the basic features like groups, guilds, skills, inventory, vaults, a currency exchange, a market, player instances
* two legged player races can mount the four legged player races with consent (of course)
* so many pointless ways for you to die

You can find more information about Secondhand Lands on the Greenlight page.
