Shadow Arena Will Be Launching On Consoles Later This Year, New Hero Debuts On PC

shadow arena gorgath bannerAfter a few months of being PC-exclusive, Shadow Arena is finally coming to consoles. Pear Abyss has just confirmed that the Black Desert Online-inspired battle royale game will be launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year. An official release date has yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Pearl Abyss has just debuted a new hero on the PC version. Gorgath, the 13th hero in the game, is an earth element alchemist who can hurl boulders at enemies, blow up rocks when they get close, or create a whirlwind rock shield to protect himself and damage nearby enemies.

“Gorgath commands rocks and boulders to take control of an area. He can send rocks chasing after enemies in a distance or explode the rocks when foes get too close. So, he can keep the upper hand in a fight by maintaining distance from his targets. Additionally, Gorgath uses alchemy to create random items, which can open up some interesting possibilities. However, his skills don't string together well to make combos nor have any defensive effects. This makes having rocks ready really important, because he will need them right away when opponents try to charge in.”

The latest update also separates ranks and tiers which means that tier placement will no longer be determined by a player’s rank. Players will now progress through tiers by earning tier points after a match.

You’ll find the full patch notes on the Shadow Arena official site. You can also watch Gorgath in action in the hero spotlight video below.
