It’s probably safe to say that we’ve all grown up with Sony games on the PlayStation, some of which have already been remade or remastered by the studio. That being said, Sony isn’t exactly the best when it comes to preserving their old games especially those that don’t have as big a following as the Final Fantasy series or their other popular games.

That’s apparently going to change as Sony’s newly-anointed games preservation engineer, Garret Fredley, announces on his Twitter page.

“Today is my first day as a Senior Build Engineer at [PlayStation], working as one of their initial hires for the newly created Preservation team!” revealed Fredley. “Game Preservation was my first career passion, so I'm ecstatic that I get to go back to those roots.”

Sony has yet to reveal details on their new Games Preservation Team, but knowing Sony, they’re probably going to announce it in the next few days and weeks.
