Sony’s systems, and PlayStation’s by extension, has allegedly been breached by a new hacker group. It’s unclear what information the hackers managed to steal but they’re threatening to sell the data on a ransomware website after Sony reportedly refused to give in to their demands.

“We have successfully compromised all of Sony systems,” the hacker group claimed. “We won’t ransom them! We will sell the data, due to Sony not wanting to pay. DATA IS FOR SALE.”

Cyber security experts, however, are skeptical of the hackers’ claims, or at least the scope of it. Australian website Cyber Security Connect pointed out that evidence that the hackers offered as proof of the hack is fairly mundane, lacks size and scope, and is mostly in Japanese.

Sony says that it’s investigating the matter but otherwise offered little information on the alleged security breach. “We are currently investigating the situation, and we have no further comment at this time,” the company said.
