Sony’s ambitious plan to release a dozen new live service titles by the end of its 2025 fiscal year has gone up in smoke, or at least part of it. During the company’s latest earnings call, Sony President Hiroki Totoki revealed that they’ve delayed six of the twelve live service games due to quality concerns after a “rigorous portfolio review process”.

One of the titles that appears to have been postponed is a multiplayer game set in The Last Of Us universe. It’s also unclear whether NCSoft’s Horizon Universe game will be launching as scheduled. Totoki assured the community that they haven’t been cancelled and that they simply decided to prioritize some games over others.

“We are trying as much as possible to ensure [these games] are enjoyed and liked by gamers for a long time,” he said. He also pointed out that the launch of a live service game is just the beginning.
