Square-Enix Wants Final Fantasy XI's Console Players To Switch To PC

Square-Enix will be holding a Vana'Diel Reentry Campaign for Final Fantasy XI from March 25th to March 29th. During this time, all previous players with lapsed subscriptions and active Final Fantasy XI service accounts will be allowed to play for free.

However, it appears that this event is being held primarily to entice console players to switch to PC. For the duration of this event, Square-Enix is offering a free download of the Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition. As long as you have registered your keys for each expansion, you can play them on PC once the client is downloaded.
