Stardew Valley developer Concerned Ape is planning one last hurrah for the multiplayer farming sim before he fully shifts his focus to his next game, Haunted Chocolatier. The solo developer says that he’ll be pushing out at least one more major update for the game before it enters maintenance mode.

“There is going to be a Stardew 1.6 update,” tweeted Concerned Ape. “It’s mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod). But there is also new game content, albeit much less than 1.5. I’m taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on this at the moment. Then back to HC.”

Stardew Valley fans will no doubt be ecstatic about the news as the game hasn’t received an update since 2020, more so because they’ll be able to continue creating mods and running them in the game into the foreseeable future.
