Summoners War: Chronicles, a multi-platform MMO based on the 2014 Summoners War mobile game, has officially launched on both mobile and PC after a two-year delay. We first caught wind of the game five years ago when Com2Us announced a bunch of new titles at G-Star 2017 and was initially planned for release in 2020 but only managed to take the leap this week.

“Summoners War: Chronicles is an Action RPG that explores the conflicts and decisions that led to the state of the world (as seen in the original Summoners War: Sky Arena),” announced Com2Us. “You will play as one of three Summoners: Orbia, Kina, and Cleaf, as you explore the continents, Summon Monsters, and fight back the darkness that leaks through the Rift of Worlds.”

Summoners War Chronicles promises a vast multi-continent game world, real-time action combat, and plenty of monsters to hunt. Players will also be able to prowl through several dungeons and raids and climb the floors of the Ascension Tower.

Response to game on Steam, however, is lukewarm at best with most complaints aimed at the game’s auto-play features, gacha mechanics, and fairly expensive microtransactions. Those who’ve played the original game seem to be enjoying it though so it might be worth checking out if you have time since it’s free-to-play anyway.
