Super Evil Megacorp Raise $26M In Funding For Vainglory, Expand to China

Yesterday, Vainglory developers Super Evil Megacorp made several major announcements. First, the Vainglory International Premier League will be starting on August 16th thanks to a partnership with OGN following the success of the Vainglory World Invitationals. It will be a six week league and will broadcast live on TV in Korea twice a week, while the rest of the world can stream it.

Second, Vainglory will be brought to China thanks to a partnership with Giant Interactive and their growing Chinese player community. As such, they will be working to "optimize the experience" for players in China over the next few months. Super Evil Megacorp have also promised synchronized updates with other regions.

Finally, Super Evil Megacorp have brought in $26 million in funding to "help [them] continue to build incredible core gaming experiences on touch screens, and to pursue [their] dream of evolving Vainglory into what [they] hope will be the world's first mass-market esport." From that, it sounds a bit like they will be looking to expand their library of games, as well as continue updates for Vainglory. In either case, the future of Super Evil Megacorp looks bright for now.
