If you’re just about fed up with having to start from scratch every time The Cycle: Frontier kicks off a new season, then you’ll be happy to know that you’ll finally be able to keep your progress when Season 3 begins on March 29th.

“Badum managed to pull a few strings and change how things tend to work around Prospect Station – which is a heck of a feat considering he’s, y’know, a fictional character. You will only have the future to look towards as wipes become a thing of the past,” announced Yager Developments.

All progress will still be wiped after Season 2 ends, but after that you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor and keep the spoils from your prospecting runs on Fortuna III. The developers are also looking into giving players the option to voluntarily reset their progress whenever they feel like it in exchange for rewards. The team will be sharing more information once they’ve finalized the details.

With seasonal wipes coming to an end, the game’s economy will also be reworked with late game balance in mind. This includes making high-quality kits more valuable and more difficult to obtain. Faction campaigns and missions will also be tweaked to allow for a healthier in-game economy with plans to introduce new endgame questlines that will be expanded on in future updates.

Lead Producer Matt Lightfoot talks about their plans for Season 3 in the new developer update video below.
