The Elder Scrolls Online Celebrates The Franchise’s 25th Anniversary With A New Prologue And Free Play Event
Did you know that today marks the 25th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls franchise? Yep, 25 years ago, Bethesda Softworks released their first Elder Scrolls game called The Elder Scrolls: Arena, a game that would pave the way for one of the most popular, not to mention lucrative, franchises in gaming history. To celebrate the occasion, The Elder Scrolls Online has just released a new Elsweyr Prologue that players can experience for free starting today.
“In the Wrathstone DLC game pack, you began your Season of the Dragon adventure by delving into two challenging dungeons and collecting both halves of the mysterious Wrathstone tablet. With the Elsweyr Prologue, going live later today, you can discover the true purpose of the Wrathstone, and, as shown in our Elsweyr Cinematic Trailer, unleash Dragons upon the unsuspecting Khajiit of Elsweyr.”
Successfully completing the Prologue quests will reward players with the Dragon Flight Illusion Gem memento. The memento can be used to summon a spectral group of mini-dragons. If you haven’t bought a copy of the game yet Zenimax will be holding a Free Play Event from March 28th until April 3rd which includes full access to the base game including the new Prologue Quests. The Free Play Event also includes access to the Morrowind DLC and the Dark Elves’ homeland Vvardenfell.
If you’re thinking of purchasing a copy of The Elder Scrolls Online, the base game and the Summerset DLC are currently on sale until April 9th for the base game and April 2nd for Summerset. Meanwhile, pre-orders for the Elsweyr DLC start on June 4th.
