Trinium Wars Is Shutting Down On August 31st

It's been less than five months since Trinium Wars initially went live on Early Access and less than three months since it went free-to-play, but Hanmaru Soft announced today that the game will be shutting down on August 31st. The primary reason for the shutdown is that the game never accrued enough players to make its 1000-player Resource War PvP mode worthwhile. In fact, it's said that not a single person showed up to the last Resource War.

As the game is shutting down, it has been removed from Steam entirely. From this point on, no new players will be able to download it, much less purchase any of the DLC.

However, there is a small silver lining. InselGames is launching a new "Hack'n'Slash Fantasy MMORPG" this fall and those who purchased the Collector's Edition or Deluxe Edition of Trinium Wars will be given a free copy. Everyone else who owns a copy of Trinium Wars, regardless of how they got it, will get 25% off the new title.
