Turbine Launching Game of Thrones Mobile Strategy Game

It's official - Turbine will be launching a Game of Thrones themed mobile strategy game called Game of Thrones: Conquest. Players take on the role of the head of their own house as they fight to claim the Iron Throne. Familiar faces such as Tyrian Lannister, Jon Snow, and Daenerys Targaryen are in the game as well. Pre-registrations are open now and from the few screenshots available the game looks a lot like every other mobile strategy game, so expect some pay 2 win elements.

I'm surprised it took 7 seasons of HBO's popular Game of Thrones seasons to air before someone launched a pay 2 win strategy game with its name. We've already seen how successful this genre can be with titles like Game of War and Mobile Strike bringing in over $800M a year, each. Machine Zone, the company behind both these strategy games even launched a highly successful re-skin of Game of War with the Final Fantasy XV franchise slapped on called Final Fantasy XV - A New Empire this year and it's already making millions. If a Final Fantasy re-skin for Game of War can be super successful, I have no doubt Game of Thrones: Conquest will be a big hit. After handing over development of Dungeons and Dragons Online / Lord of the Rings Online to Standing Stone Games, we now know what the company has been working on.
