Ubisoft sent out an email earlier this week informing users that they were resetting their account passwords in response to a “cyber security incident” last week. Don’t worry. The studio assures users that no accounts or player IDs were compromised during the attack and that they’re now looking into the incident.

“Last week, Ubisoft experienced a cyber security incident that caused temporary disruption to some of our games, systems, and services. Our IT teams are working with leading external experts to investigate the issue. As a precautionary measure we initiated a company-wide password reset. Also, we can confirm that all our games and services are functioning normally and that at this time there is no evidence any player personal information was accessed or exposed as a by-product of this incident.”

GamesIndustry.biz notes that Ubisoft has been the target of similar cyberattacks in the past. Just last year, the District Court of California awarded the company $153,000 when they took legal action against a group that distributed DDoS software which was used to launch attacks on its online games.
