Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Unveils The Fifth Vampire Clan – The Malkavian

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is still ages away from release but Paradox Interactive is keen to give players a glimpse of what to expect from the game when it comes out sometime in March 2020. Over the past few weeks, Paradox has been unveiling the playable vampire clans starting with Brujah, followed by Tremere, Toreador, and Ventrue. This week, the developers reveal the fifth and final clan – the Malkavian, the Clan of the Moon.

“None of the many nicknames for Clan Malkav - 'Lunatics', 'Jesters', 'Visionaries', 'Madmen', and so on - is as fitting as 'Oracles'. To be of the Clan is to understand things nobody else does; and to be affected by that understanding. Among the clan, this shows itself in psychosis, depression, compulsive disorders, or uncounted other mental illnesses. This hasn't kept the Clan of the Moon from finding a place in Kindred society. Advisers, strategists, preachers, hunters and yes, rulers; all Malkavians walk their very own path.”

Those who choose to join the Malkavian’s ranks will gain access to two Disciplines: Dementation and Auspex. Dementation allows clan members to project their psychosis onto their victims’ minds, either sending them fleeing with panic using Haunt or into an uncontrollable rage with Berserk. Auspex, on the other hand, gives Malkavians a heightened sense of awareness, allowing them to track their targets with ease using Aura Sense and explore the world in astral form using Psychic Projection.
