Vermintide Hits 300,000 Sales, Gets Free DLC

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide has officially hit a milestone other than having the longest game name of the year. As of today, Fatshark has announced that their Warhammer-themed, Skaven-slaughtering Left4Dead-like has pulled in 300,000 sales in a mere two weeks. Considering the fact that Fatshark was previously regarded with caution following War of the Vikings and Escape From Dead Island—with their one solid title in recent years, Bloodsports.TV, going largely unnoticed—this is quite the turn of events. According to CEO Martin Wahlund, Fatshark "couldn’t be happier to reach 300,000 sales of Vermintide so far and the player reception and feedback, has left us humbled more than anything,"
To celebrate, Fatshark have revealed that they will be releasing a free DLC pack, Sigmar's Blessing, for all players on December 3rd. This DLC will allow players to control what loot is dropped in-game. A new altar will be added to the Inn in order to allow players to sacrifice their loot to improve their equipped weapons. New traits have been added to the loot table, as well, with new "unique weapon drops in the 'red' loot class for each of the 40 weapon types."
In addition to the free DLC, Fatshark will be adding a "private mode" so that players can take on the Skaven alone. A "realism mode" will challenge players to face the Skaven without their HUD or crosshairs. A survival mode will round out the additions, allowing players to take on endless amounts of Skaven in a Horde-like mode.
Vermintide is available now on Steam.
