Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe and Behaviour Interactive announced yesterday that Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade will be launching on PC on September 23rd. The console versions have been delayed and aren't expected to launch until sometime after the PC version.

Behaviour Interactive Senior Vice President Stephen Mulrooney had the following to say about the announcement.

We are committed to delivering the best experience for the release on September 23rd, with a PC version that matches our ambitions in terms of content and quality and sets the runway for our free lifetime expansions. To pause the development of the console versions was a tough decision but will result in an optimized and extended experience when released.

The launch version of Eternal Crusade is expected to have four factions and 20 subfactions, hundreds of weapons, a persistent world to wage war over in both PvE and PvP modes, and more. However, the team still has a ways to go until that vision is a reality. In a Steam Community update posted on Thursday, Behaviour Interactive Senior Producer Nathan Richardsson explained that the team is currently working on updating the game's engine to Unreal Engine 4.12. An infographic detailing the team's to do list was also included. On that list are features such as a "redesigned" persistent world element and fixes for matchmaking, meaning that it will likely be a busy month for Behaviour Interactive.
