Bandai Namco announced today that it has begun the Open Beta for its free-to-play online co-operative action game LOST REAVERS exclusively on Wii U. LOST REAVERS pits four players against a "series of dungeons," ultimately looking to find the treasure at the end. Once they have found the treasure, they must bring it back to the extraction point. The player carrying the treasure will be unable to fight on the way back to the extraction point and must be protected by the other players. Traps, enemies, and even dungeon bosses will attempt to stop them along the way.

Four characters are available. They are described as follows.

Sayuri, a sword-wielding modern day samurai; Dwayne, a heavy-weapon toting specimen of human artillery; Victoria, a svelte dual-wielding mistress of pistols, and a mysterious masked fourth character, who wields many weapons to cut down his foes.

A number of levels to steal treasure from are available, including "Ancient Ruins, Medieval Castles, and a Modern City." A progression system is in place, allowing players to level up their characters and acquire more powerful weaponry along the way.

The LOST REAVERS Open Beta client can be downloaded now from the Wii U eShop. The game's official launch is set to occur on April 28th, which is when the "full version of the game" will be made available. No details about what content might be missing from the Open Beta were provided.
