Wizard101 & Pirate101 May Be Coming To Steam

KingsIsle Entertainment, the studio behind kid-friendly MMORPGs Wizard101 and Pirate101, are trying to get a new game published on Steam via Greenlight. EverClicker - Endless RPG is a 'clicker' game like Cookie Clicker and Clicker Heroes, but adds a few new twists to the tedious genre.

One advertised features in the Greenlight page description in particular caught my eye:

BATTLE WITH FRIENDS
Enter time gates to battle with friends against waves of enemies for incredible prizes!

I've always wanted to play a co-op clicker game! I'm not sure what exactly that will entail, but I do hope this one gets approved.

Even those of you not interested in clicker games may want to support the EverClicker project. KingsIsle has stated that they view this project as a sort of test project for how to publish a game on Steam. If all goes well, we are likely to see their main titles make it to Steam:

It’s easier to start our journey onto Steam with a game that isn’t hugely complicated with a lot of moving parts. Starting with EverClicker on Steam allows us to learn the process. If successful, we hope to be able to offer more of our games on Steam and other distribution outlets in the future, which could include games such as Wizard101 and Pirate101.

As an unapologetic fan of Wizard101 since its launch in 2008, I am a bit biased here in recommending everyone take the time to upvote this Greenlight project. I would love to see an injection of new players into the world of Spiral. It might also give me an excuse to try out Pirate101 which I still haven't gotten around to doing. Oh, and the clicker game might even end up being fun for a few hours. Who knows. At least the name is cute, perhaps a nod to EverQuest?
