World Of Warcraft Classic: Burning Crusade Expansion Launches On June 1, Pre-Patch Coming On May 18

world of warcraft classic burning crusade key art bannerAfter a few months in beta testing, The Burning Crusade expansion will finally be coming to World of Warcraft Classic on June 1 with the pre-patch scheduled on May 18. So how exactly would you get access to the new-slash-old expansion? The good news is that the expansion will be free. All you need is an active World of Warcraft subscription.

“’You are not prepared!’ Fourteen years ago, Illidan Stormrage issued that thunderous warning to those who would dare confront him in the shattered realm of Outland. Starting June 1, heroes of Azeroth new and old will have the opportunity to gather their courage and rally their allies to face the Betrayer once again with the worldwide launch of World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic.”

Blizzard will also be offering several paid services, including the ability to clone your character from the Classic to The Burning Crusade servers and boost their character to level 58 with level-appropriate gear through the Dark Portal Pass. The services will both be available on May 18 and are priced at $35 and $40, respectively. Do note that the Dark Portal Pass can only be used once and will not be available for Blood Elf and Draenei characters.

A WoW Classic Deluxe Edition is also available if you’re interested. The Deluxe Edition comes with one month of game time, one Dark Portal Pass, the Reawakened Phase-Hunter mount for The Burning Crusade Classic, The Path of Illidan toy which will cause your character to leave fel fire footprints, and a Dark Portal Hearthstone that provides a unique visual effect, and the Viridian Phase-Hunter mount for use in the original WoW server.

“For many World of Warcraft players, the original Burning Crusade was their first step on an epic journey that’s still going on today,” said Blizzard Entertainment President J. Allen Brack. “But for many others, stories of fleeing the Fel Reaver and confronting Illidan at the top of the Black Temple are just the stuff of legend.”

“With Burning Crusade Classic, we want to give players a chance to experience the trials and triumphs of Outland in a way that hasn’t been possible for more than a decade, and do so adventuring alongside old friends and new. We can’t wait to travel with everyone back through the Dark Portal once again,” he added.
