The Cataclysm Classic pre-patch is now live, paving the way for the expansion’s World of Warcraft Classic launch on May 20. The pre-expansion update kicked off the world-breaking event known as The Shattering as Deathwing breaks out of his prison in the depths of Azeroth. It also introduced the Worgen and Goblin as playable races alongside new race/class combinations and new talent trees, talents, and spells.

Unfortunately, some of the changes and features that were included in the original pre-patch have either been pushed back or removed entirely. The expanded hunter pet system in particular has been delayed to the actual Cataclysm launch at the latest. For now, hunters will only be able to summon 1 pet as before and will need to visit a stablemaster to switch to a different pet.

Void Storage has also been removed in favor of the new account-wide transmog and collection system. Guild Perks have also been updated to grant previously exclusive perks to everyone, regardless of whether they’re a member of a guild or not. Guild members will also gain item rewards as they gain guild reputation but guilds themselves will no longer level up.

Additionally, drop rates have been increased for all Wrath Classic dungeons until further notice. Details can be found in the Patch 4.4.0 release notes.
