WoW Hotfixes June 17, 2026: Mage, DH, and Classic Fixes
Blizzard Entertainment has pushed a June 17, 2026 hotfix package for World of Warcraft - a buy-to-play subscription MMO on PC - covering Midnight, Mists of Pandaria Classic, Season of Discovery, The Burning Crusade Classic, WoW Classic Era, and Hardcore, with balance, economy, and encounter fixes across all versions.
The update arrives one day after Patch 12.0.7 launched on June 16, and the bulk of the fixes read as expected stabilisation work following that drop. The most substantive changes sit in MoP Classic's class tuning and economy corrections, with several specs receiving meaningful damage adjustments and a 90% transmog cost reduction correcting an unintentional overshoot from Patch 5.5.4.
Class Tuning and Balance
- Demon Hunter Havoc - Aldrachi Reaver: Blizzard confirmed Aldrachi Reaver has been underperforming relative to its Hero Talent alternatives. Warblade's Hunger damage increased by 55%, Reaver's Glaive by 15%, and Wounded Quarry Physical damage bonus raised from 25% to 30%.
- Death Sweep base damage also increased by 10% - a correction from a previous update where Blade Dance was buffed but Death Sweep wasn't updated to maintain its intended 30% damage lead over it.
- Demon Hunter Vengeance - Aldrachi Reaver: Reaver's Glaive up 30%, Warblade's Hunger up 55%, Wounded Quarry Physical damage raised from 20% to 25%.
- Druid Feral: All damage dealt increased by 4%.
- Mage Arcane: All ability damage up 5% (PvE only), Arcane Missiles up an additional 10%; Sunfury's Burden of Power Arcane Blast bonus raised to 30% and Arcane Pulse to 20%, closing the gap with Spellslinger.
- Mage Fire: Pyroblast damage up 8% (PvE only), targeting single-target output across all Hero Talent paths.
- Mage Frost - Frostfire: Multiple talent buffs including Dualcasting Adept Shatter bonus jumping from 15% to 40%, Blast Radius Comet Storm bonus from 20% to 50%, and Heat Sink Flurry bonus from 10% to 25% - Blizzard described Frostfire as "farther behind Spellslinger than we're happy with."
- Death Knight Unholy: Resolved a bug causing Unholy Aura and Forbidden Ritual to cancel earlier than intended.
Economy, Events, and Systems
- Transmog costs (MoP Classic): Outfit and slot gold costs reduced by 90% after Patch 5.5.4 shipped them at unintended values.
- Celestial Dungeons (MoP Classic): Kor'kron forces respawn rate changed from 5 minutes to 2 hours; August Stone Clusters cap raised from 70 to 200; Coffer of Celestial Chance reward increased from 20–30 to 50–60 Lesser Charms of Good Fortune.
- Garrosh Hellscream bonus rolls: Defeating Garrosh in Siege of Orgrimmar now enables a bonus roll chance for extra loot, effective after this week's realm maintenance.
- Season of Discovery - XP toggle: Players can now disable or re-enable XP gains via Grendag Brightbeard in Ironforge or Orgrimmar. The 1g cost is temporarily waived due to a known persistence bug that drops the setting on relog.
- TBC Classic - Arena MMR display: Post-match UI now shows pre-match Matchmaking Ratings for both teams.
- Midnight - Abundance in Voidstorm refund: Players who lost Shards of Dundun due to a quest-blocking bug will receive Unalloyed Abundance in an upcoming hotfix.
The Mage tuning in particular signals Blizzard is still actively working the Frostfire gap against Spellslinger - a disparity that has been on community radar since the Midnight Revelations patch landed. Expect further passes if the numbers don't close sufficiently. For the full change list spanning all Classic versions, the June 2 hotfix roundup provides useful comparative context on the cadence Blizzard has been running.
