I’m not sure if Blizzard Entertainment is leaking information intentionally but the World of Warcraft Classic website was accidentally updated today with the supposed release date for Wrath of the Lich King Classic. But in this day and age, you can’t really expect to accidentally leak information without it spreading through the entire internet community.

According to Wowhead, the website briefly sported a banner that read, “The Lich King Returns September 26, 2022” before it was reverted to its original state. Regardless of whether it was accidental or not, the date does coincide with Blizzard’s plans to relaunch the World of Warcraft expansion this summer. The studio has yet to comment on or confirm the date, but considering the number of Blizzard leaks that turned out to be the real deal, we’re guessing that it’s right on the money.

Meanwhile, beta testing for Wrath of the Lich King is still underway. As of the latest beta build, the Death Knight starting zone has been separated into different phases depending on the player’s chosen faction. Addons have also been enabled and the Beta Arena Season and initial raid testing is now live on the test server.

If you’re new to the Death Knight experience, Blizzard has published a walkthrough to guide players through their first steps as an undead knight of the Ebon Blade.
