Bierzerkers Overview

Equip your horned helmets and drinking mugs in preparation for a violent and exciting round of Bierball in Bierzerkers, a wacky free-to-play 3D MOBA inspired by Team Fortress 2 and Loadout. The game is set in the viking afterlife where residents can drink and fight to their hearts' content. Play as unique, themed classes that include: the beer-guzzling Drunkard that helps sustain allies in combat, the scoundrel with high attack and low defense, or the speedy and tanky Raider—the game's current free-to-play character. Take control of one of the game's multiple classes and enter one of the Norse-mythos inspired maps with the aim of throwing sheep into the opposing team's goal. The game features over-the-top cartoon violence and fast-paced combat against either AI or players, offering easy-to-learn skill sets and team objectives that are difficult to master.

  • Over-the-Top Cartoon Humor – blow up your enemies and watch their body parts fly across the map, or guzzle copious amounts of beer and take advantage of the game's floaty phsyics.
  • Fast Arcade-style Gameplay – jump straight into a game without any significant preparation involved, play as long as it suits you, and then leave with few consequences.
  • Easy to Learn, Difficult to Master – simple mechanics and classes make it easy to pick up the game; its complex variety of situations and interactions give it depth and a high level of mastery.

Development History / Background:

Bierzerkers is developed and published by Shield Break Studios, an independent game developer founded by veterans from a variety of AAA game studios that include Blizzard Entertainment, Riot Games, and Activision. Bierzerkers is their first project, announced on August 5, 2014. The game was released to Steam Early Access on July 9, 2015 as a buy-to-play title, which unlocked all available game content. After listening to the community, the developers decided to turn Bierzerkers into a varation of the free-to-play model upon its launch on February 25, 2016, offering the Raider character for free with the rest of the characters as paid DLC. Its launch removed all but one of the game modes initially found in the Early Access version of the game, due to balance issues. April 15, 2017 marked the last update by the developers. The game has been abandoned since then with 0 players active and no notice by the developer.
