Take on the role of “Awakeners” humans imbued with the knowledge, skills, and personalities of legendary commanders in Blood of Steel. Choose from a huge roster of heroes and their respective fighting forces from ancient Western and Eastern civilizations and battle together with and against other players in a variety of game modes. Engage in action-packed tactical medieval battles featuring a combination of hack-and-slash combat and real-time strategy where timing, terrain, weather, positioning, formations, and multiple other factors all come into play. Fight together with your units in the frontline and hack-and-slash your way to victory or command your units safely from behind the lines. Stop enemies in their tracks with defensive units, pick them off from afar with archers, or run them down with cavalry units, working together with your team to win the battle.

  • Legendary Commanders – choose from a huge roster of commanders and heroes from ancient civilizations including Leonidas, Caesar, Joan of Arc, Hua Mulan, Godfrey, and more.
  • Combo-Based Action Combat – anticipate your opponents moves and block their attacks or launch your own attacks from four directions. Chain attacks together, dash in for the kill, or break your opponents guard to create an opening and emerge the victor.
  • Tactical Medieval Battles – play to your chosen hero and unit’s strengths and use the terrain, structures, walls, and weather to your advantage.

Development History / Background:

Blood of Steel is a free-to-play 3D first-person action combat game developed by Chinese game developer Evolution Studio and published by their parent company YC Games. The game was first announced in September 2016 and launched into open beta on November 29, 2019. The official release date was initially scheduled for January 9, 2020 but was delayed to February 20th and then to March 13th before finally launching on Steam on October 20th of the same year.
