Grim Dawn Overview
Grim Dawn is an action RPG created by Crate Entertainment, a company founded by former members of the Titan Quest development team. The game takes place in a fantasy world in which the human race is in danger of becoming extinct. As one of the few survivors, you must help rebuild the world, making difficult choices along the way. Choose one of six classes and then dual-class it with another. Collect hundreds of items, each of which has its own affixes and skills, or make your own with a recipe-based crafting system. Choose to play nice with the factions you encounter or make them your enemies—your choices matter. Pave your way in this dark fantasy world.

Grim Dawn Classes
Grim Dawn features six classes that can each be dual-classed with any other class.
The Arcanist is a master of magic that possesses high offensive power while simultaneously having to cope with low defensive power. It does not make use of a weapon.
The Demolitionist is a hybrid of engineer and sorcerer that makes use of fire, electricity, and explosives. It prefers to fight at range, but can also make use of melee weaponry.
The Nightblade is an assassin that can conjure illusions that are powerful enough to injure opponents. It makes use of dual-wielded melee weapons.
The Occultist is a summoner that can also make use of spells involving acid and poison. It does not have any particular strengths or weaknesses with any weapons.
The Shaman is a powerful melee fighter that can call upon the power of lightning storms. It excels at using two-handed melee weapons.
The Soldier is a tank with unparalleled health and physique. It excels at using a shield with a one-handed melee weapon, but can also make use of firearms.

Development History / Background:
Grim Dawn is developed by Crate Entertainment, a company comprised of former Iron Lore Entertainment employees. On July 27, 2009, Crate Entertainment announced that they had licensed the Titan Quest game engine from Iron Lore to create a game that they later announced would be Grim Dawn on January 21, 2010. The company took Grim Dawn to Kickstarter on April 17, 2012 with a goal of $280,000. The Kickstarter successfully came to a close on May 18, 2012 with $537,515 raised. Grim Dawn later hit Steam Early Access on May 15, 2013 and was developed at a steady pace until it launched on February 25, 2016. Modding tools were released post-launch on April 28, 2016.
