Transformers Online is an upcoming 3D team-based FPS that features characters from the popular Transformers franchise, including content from Cybertron, Age of Extinction, and Rise of the Dark Spark. Built in Unreal Engine 4, the game offers a team-oriented shooter experience where players control a variety of different Transformers with distinct abilities and weaponry. The game is similar to the popular Overwatch, down to its user interface and character-specific ultimate abilities, with a Transformers twist that includes the ability to transform into vehicles for travel and melee weaponry.

Development History / Background:
Transformers Online is developed and published by the tech giant Tencent, notable for purchasing Riot Games and hosting League of Legends for the Chinese audience. The game is developed using Unreal Engine 4 and makes full use of its strong graphical capabilities. The game is officially licensed by Hasbro and was announced at Chinajoy 2016 on July 27 with a cinematic trailer and a short preview of gameplay, as well as a cryptic teaser website that was released earlier in the week. The game began a closed beta test on August 5, 2016, open beta began in June 23, 2017 but with no schedule for release outside China. User registration was closed on November 14, 2019 and the game was shut down on February 13, 2020.
